Laurie Downey is a visual artist and graphic designer.

Laurie lives and works in southwestern Maine.

Much of her studio work is based on the dense woods surrounding her house and studio; she makes drawings and creates large digital images based on abstracted natural patterns.

She began lyos lightscreens as a way to develop patterns and applications for the creative diffusion of interior light.

Laurie is also a teaching artist, creating murals with students in Maine public schools through the Local Stories Project.

If you have any questions about Laurie's work, please contact her.
